It is that time of year again for DCBA elections. The first step is to form the Nominating Committee. We will also need nominees (as a side note, anyone can be nominated from the floor the day of the elections as long as the person nominating them is a member in good standing and the person nominated meets the requirements and understands the obligations of the office for which they are nominated). I need three volunteers for this committee. Once we have three members for the committee, they will elect a chair and I will become a non-voting member of the committee. It will be the committee's duty to review the candidates to make sure they meet the requirements to serve in the positions for which they are nominated, to hold the election, and to tally the votes (if needed). Needless to say, if you are planning on running for office, do not volunteer for the committee. If you have ever wanted to serve on a committee, this is a good one to start with, it will only last for about a month so it is a good way to give it a go and see how you like it. -- Eric Jones

For all the new beekeepers getting nucs or packages in April, welcome to the club and good fortune on your upcoming journey. This month, we have our very own Gary Barber as our guest speaker. Gary is co-founder of Honey Bees Unlimited(HBU), a professional pollination service company and commercial beekeeping outfit.
