Registration should be open by March 1st. They are asking for volunteers. Brenham Texas is hosting their 14th annual Beekeeping School to be held at Brenham High School on March 2nd. They have a full curricullum, registration is open, and they are asking for volunteers.   5. whew! we've finally gotten our new site up and running. It took longer than we imagined, but I think the end result was worth it! Please take a look around, create your profile page, make friends, post comments or even start a new topic. if you see anything you'd like to change or that doesn't work quite right, let us know and we'll jump on it. I'm so excited that we can have such a beautiful website and I hope y'all feel the same. Enjoy! Michelle
  6. We have been invited to attend the Embassy Suites Honeyween event featuring the hotel's rooftop hive honey. There will be honey drinks, music and costumes are encouraged!
  7. We want to see your face! Our April meeting will be in person this month. We will also be doing a zoom option for those who can't make it in person. We ask that you sit with your family and respect social distancing with other families by keeping a chair or two between families. Masks are optional, but please respect everyone's preferences when socializing. We will not be offering refreshments at this meeting. The Board will be discussing when it is appropriate to add refreshments back at our meetings. Your feedback is appreciated on how we can have in-person meetings where everyone is comfortable attending. Cookout and Hive building workshop We will be having a hive building event on Saturday, April 10th from 10 am to 2 pm Club members Mick Gosson and Brock Davies, have offered to cook us up a feast as we help our youth build their first hives! Any new beekeepers are welcome to attend and put together woodenware, as well. DCBA will have tools available for use. Please bring your hive kits and nails for assembly. We will also be waxing foundation. This is a great chance to keep your kitchen and deck clean! We will have a hive on site for hive observations. If you want to do an in-hive tour, please bring your suit, veil and gloves. Cookout on Sat. March 10th 10 am to 2 pm Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center 3310 Collins Road Denton, TX New Website Voting at April Meeting At the April meeting we will be voting on quotes for a new website. If you cannot attend and want to know the details, please email board@dentonbees.com. We will provide you the info and give you an opportunity to vote by mail.

To help generate buzz about Denton County Beekeepers Association, promote membership, and raise bee awareness, we will be holding a beekeeping FLASH MOB at the opening day of the Denton Community Market on Saturday, April 3rd. We'd love to have as many members as possible come out, dress up, and pass out flyers. The flash mob details are below: Date: Saturday, April 3rd at 9:15 am Location: We will be meeting at the front doors of the Carroll Building at 401 S Carroll Blvd. Come dressed in your hive gear or as a honey bee At 9:30 am, we swarm!
